The party on the South Plains fairgrounds is once again in full swing. The annual South Plains Fair featuring livestock shows, live entertainment, food, wild rides and a whole lot more is in town for the next eight days.
Fair officials tell NewsChannel 11 they are expecting close to 200,000 visitors this year. Large crowds will sometimes mean hot tempers and this year fair security is tighter. They now have a 20% increase of personnel and have added more high intensity lights to brighten dark spots arounf the fairgrounds.
The fair will be in Lubbock from Friday September 20th through Saturday September 28th. Admission is $5 for adults 12 and over, and $2 for kids six to 11-years-old. Children under 6 are free. Parking is $3.
