Walk Stations Help Keep Employees Healthy

This just might be the perfect Christmas gift for the office, instead of a work station, it's a walk station.

We showed you when it was launched late last year and since then, Steelcase has sold over 500 units at $3,000 each. The theory is that companies that spend the money up front can save it later with healthier employees. Employees are encouraged to walk at least 10 minutes a day on this treadmill desk hybrid. The units are even adjustable.

All the employees have to do is enter your weight and height so the unit can adjust to your comfort level. The walk station only goes two miles per hour, so it does not burn many calories. However, employees agree it's a good way to stretch and get moving and certainly better than no exercise at all sitting all day at a regular desk.
