Lubbock County Man Injured in Collision - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

A Lubbock County man is seriously injured after a collision in Southwest Lubbock.

The accident happened just after 9 a.m. Wednesday, as the driver of the Mercury was eastbound on 79th Street, about to turn north on Slide. A pickup was headed south on Slide, and the two vehicles collided in the intersection.

The majority of the damage could be seen on the Mercury's driver's side door. EMS took the driver, Glenn R. Beaver, 58, to Covenant Medical Center. Police say his condition has stabilized.

A witness initially told NewsChannel 11, that Beaver ran a red light. Police say that information is not confirmed, and that this accident is still under investigation. Investigators have not issued any citations.
