September Recall Round-Up - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

September Recall Round-Up

The September recall list is a short one but just one defective product could send you to the emergency room.

Basketball Goals

Huffy sports is recalling 70,000 portable basketball goals because there is a sharp bolt that sticks out on the players side of the pole. The bolt could cut the players severely. These goals were sold between November 2001 and May of this year. To order free bolt covers, ( click here).

You'll want to check your fireplace. Valor heating is recalling more than 700 wall-mount gas fireplaces. A design defect in the product can cause the main burner gas to prematurely enter the fire box during lighting. This could cause the glass window to shatter. The recall includes natural gas models 8-3-7-A-N and propane models 8-3-7-A-P. You should turn off the fireplace and gas immediately. Then call Valor at (866) 541-0930 for more information.

Cadillac drivers may want to put on the brakes. General Motors is recalling 280,000 of its Cadillac Devilles. There's apparently a problem with some of the seatbelts in the 2000 to 2002 models. If you own a Cadillac Deville made within the last two years, take it to a GM dealer for free repair.

That wraps up this month's Recall Roundup. For NewsChannel 11's Consumer Connection, I'm Sharon Maines.
