Well now with Texas Tech headed to the Cotton Bowl, what do the Red Raiders have to look forward to? We spoke with Jerry Palm, a BSC analyst out of Indiana, about Tech's match up against Ole Miss and their chances of winning.
"I think it's a great game. They're (going to) play a team that's really good and that's a little bit under the radar, a team that finished strong. They are the only team to beat Florida this year and they did it in Gainesville. Obviously they have shown they are capable of playing a great game at any given moment. They've had a really great year or they wouldn't be in the Cotton Bowl. So Texas Tech is (going to) have their work cut out for them and they're gonna have to bring their best effort. You never really know what you're gonna get a bowl game in terms of effort from either team because of the long lay-offs. It's kind of a game where Texas Tech would be favored - they probably should win but they're gonna have to show up and play well to make that happen."
When asked what he thought about Coach Mike Leach's comments regarding using graduation rates as a tie-breaker, Palm said as someone who believes in the student athlete, it's not a bad idea - and is definitely better than using the BCS rankings.
