Xcel Drops Plan For Surcharge

Xcel Energy has a little gift for its customers just in time for Christmas. The company announced Tuesday it is dropping plans for a surcharge to cover fuel costs.

A surcharge of 8 percent was dropped back in October and since no new one will take its place in January, you'll be able to keep that monthly savings. The company says the cost of natural gas has gone down and Xcel is saving money by using its new power plant in Hobbs.
