Sunday night, Lubbockites joined together to mourn the loss of children in their lives. It was too windy to light them, but participants held candles at 7:00 p.m. at Covenant Lakeside. Its part of a campaign called the Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting. People in every time zone light their candles at 7 p.m. The light travels from time zone to time zone to create a virtual wave of light. Organizers say this event can help the healing process when someone loses a child. They believe it's the largest mass candle lighting in the world.
