Police Say Fatal Stabbing Not the Suspect's First Attack

The Lubbock woman charged Monday with the murder of her boyfriend, had allegedly stabbed him before.  Tiffany Pitts remains in the Lubbock County Jail charged in the stabbing death of 32-year-old Joshua Caleb Hope.

Police say she was hysterical when they responded to Green Gables Apartments at 20th and Raleigh on Sunday morning, following a report of domestic violence.  Hope was later pronounced dead at UMC.

Oklahoma authorities say, Pitts reportedly stabbed Hope in self defense following a breakup in July. She then filed for a protective order, and a judge granted her request.

Lubbock police do not believe Sunday's stabbing was self defense.

Friends & Family In Shock After Weekend Murder
One man is dead, and his girlfriend is in the Lubbock County Jail accused of murdering him.  Now, friends of the couple tell NewsChannel 11 they can't believe what happened.
