Lubbockites Behind Bars After Tuesday's Grand Jury

NewsChannel 11 has been following two cases that went before Tuesday's Lubbock County Grand Jury. 39-year-old James Burton remains behind bars after the grand jury indicted him on five counts of aggravated sexual assault. A woman in Illinois told police that during a conversation over the internet Burton admitted to sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl for more than two years. Burton's bond is set at $100,000.

Also, a 21-year-old Lubbock woman will stand trial for a traffic death after a decision by the grand jury. Charity Farthing stands indicted on manslaughter and aggravated assault charges. Investigators say she failed to stop at the flashing red light at 19th and Milwaukee in October, she collided with another vehicle.
