A 20 inch water line in southwest Lubbock was hit and broken by a construction contractor near Frankford Avenue and Spur 327 on Tuesday.
The City of Lubbock is diverting traffic in the area as one westbound lane on Spur 327 and some southbound traffic on Frankford Avenue is shut down.
Street repair could take three to five days to complete, while the Water Utilities Department believes the water line will be repaired and running by close of business Wednesday.
