The Lubbock City Council will hold a special meeting Monday to consider rescinding their approval of ATMOS Energy's rate plan.
In May the council approved ATMOS Energy's plan for gas service within the city limits. The City requested a customer credit of $673,000. ATMOS was willing to provide a customer credit of $450,000.
The City of Lubbock says this could cost ATMOS customers about $400,000 annually. The City of Lubbock and ATMOS Energy have not reached an agreement, which is why Monday the city council will meet to consider retracting their approval of the rate plan.
