There's good but possibly unknown news for air travelers. If you buy a non-refundable airline ticket and the price falls, you can get a refund. Most carriers will provide a refund if you request it before your scheduled flight. But you'll have to check the airline's policy.
Most of them allow the request on the phone or on the website, and they'll refund as a voucher for future flights - and a change fee may apply. However, Southwest will refund directly to a credit card and it has no change fee.
