There's trouble for the Innocence Project of Texas. Lawyers from Amarillo and Lubbock have helped free many falsely accused convicts, mostly from Dallas County. But their major benefactor, the Jeht Foundation, lost money in a New York ponzi scheme.
Lubbock attorney Kevin Glasheen confirms that this leaves the Innocence Project with about $40,000 to do DNA testing. And once that money runs out, the future is not certain.
