Following up now on a NewsChannel 11 special investigation - a Lubbock mortician could lose his license.
NewsChannel 11 obtained both written documents and video from the Texas Funeral Commission. In the recent commission meeting, officials proposed that Gary White's license be revoked. On the video they propose $17,000 fines for White Funeral home, but the written document indicates $19,000.
Either way this is not a done deal. White has the right to appeal and so for now it's business as usual at White Funeral Home.
White's attorney, Mike McCauley defended him before the commissioners saying, "This individual has committed his life to this profession; a profession that we can all agree is one that is very difficult to find qualified individuals in this profession."
Commissioners were responding to a complaint brought by a former employee. Additionally, a "NewsChannel 11 Investigates" special report found that White was accused of selling used body containers as though they were new.
