Sridhar Natarajan stands to be one of the highest paid officials in Lubbock County. If Natarajan accepts Monday's County Commissioner appointment, he will be medical examiner for the second time.
Tuesday on NewsChannel 11 at 10, KCBD General Manager Dan Jackson will talk about the issue of the medical examiner's salary. Natarajan's total office budget will be $1.7 million, which will include his salary of $450,000.
Here is his salary compared to other base salaries of some public officials:
Texas Tech Chancellor Kent Hance: $412,000
City Manager Lee Ann Dumbauld: $225,000
Lubbock ISD Superintendent Wayne Havens: $210,000
District Attorney Matt Powell: $135,000 (including state and local pay)
Sheriff David Gutierrez: $77,000
