If healthier eating is in your New Year's plans here is a food tip from the Agriculture Department.
Don't cut your potatoes when you boil them. Yes, it will take a little longer to cook them through but when you slice your spuds, you also cut down on the mineral content by as much as 75-percent. So, the USDA says boiling them whole is a good way to preserve the minerals and get the most out of that vegetable.
