Lubbock Economy Up for the Year, Flat 4th Quarter - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

While some numbers are down, Lubbock's overall economy still looks good compared to the rest of the nation. 

The Lubbock's Economic Development Alliance, or LEDA, released the latest economic and consumer price index Monday.

While home construction and auto sales dropped, retail spending was up nine percent for November compared to last year. Overall, Lubbock's economy was up in 2008, but flat for the fourth quarter.

LEDA says, a clearer picture of the area's economy will emerge in the December report.
