Frenship High School Junior Christy Curti and her 22-year-old boyfriend Kevin Umbarger of Whitharrel both died when Umbarger rolled his truck late Sunday night.
Curti's mother tells NewsChannel 11 that she was very social and outgoing, a typical teenager who loved to spend time with her friends. Frenship High School Principal Kim Spicer says Curti was liked by all.
"Christy was just very pretty, very young, very vivacious, outgoing. She cared a lot about people. She tried really hard at school and she was just really pleasant and will be greatly missed," said Spicer.
Umbarger's family tells NewsChannel 11 his passions were football and his girlfriend. He worked for the family business, Anderson Electrics.
A memorial fund for Umbarger is set up at City Bank. You can donate at any branch and donations will be set aside for a college scholarship rewarded at Whitharrel High School.
Kevin Umbarger's funeral service will be on Thursday at 2nd Baptist Church in Levelland at 1:00 p.m.
A memorial fund for Curti is set up at Bank of America. Donations will also be set aside for a college scholarship rewarded to a 2010 Frenship High School graduate.
A memorial service for Curti will take place on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Trinity Church. She will be buried next to her grandmother in New York.
