The name "Mike Moses" came up as part of the search for a new Lubbock ISD Superintendent. Moses does not plan to come back as Superintendent.
He and Dave Thompson with a company called School Consulting Inc. will help find a replacement. Moses was Superintendent from 1989 through 1994. NewsChannel 11 broke the story last month that current Superintendent Wayne Havens is retiring this year. He gave the district until December 2009 or until his replacement is found whichever comes first. Board members feel like they made a good choice by using Moses and Thompson for their candidate search.
"These two gentlemen are excellent at what they do. They both have a good working knowledge of the Lubbock community and they both have an understanding of our district in particular. We are very hopeful that they will accept this task," says LISD Board member Gordon Wilkerson.
Moses and Thompson will be paid $20,000 plus expenses.
