The auction was schedualed to end at 2 p.m. Wednesday, but City of Lubbock received no bids to purchase and move the historic Tara West House.
NewsChannel 11 has learned that the bidding has been extended due to some interested parties. Sealed bids will be accepted at Lubbock City Hall until 2 p.m. on Friday. Any interested party must make a sealed bid by that time.
NewsChannel 11 spoke with Mayor Tom Martin and Councilman Jim Gilbreath. Both tell us the home must be moved for the Slide Road expansion project.
Martin and Gilbreath both say if the historic Tara West House is not sold and moved, they fully expect it will have to be demolished.
