Researchers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham are shooting for the stars.

The team designed two low-power cryogenic freezers to transport and store biological research samples on the Space Shuttle Endeavor.  The freezers can get as cold as minus 160 degrees Celsius, and are designed to hold test tubes, lab trays, and other research equipment.

One of the freezers will stay in space at the International Space Station, while the other will store samples sent back to Earth.
