A 15-year-old Idalou teen has died in what Lubbock Sheriff's Office is calling a tragic accident.
Jett Harmon was crushed after a tractor pulling a trailer backed into him on family property just south of Idalou. The sheriff's office tells us that Harmon was giving directions to a friend operating the tractor. Idalou High School Principal Steve Bigham says Harmon was a great kid and he'll be missed.
Counselors were on hand from surrounding communities to help students and faculty. Students wrote messages on a memory wall at the High School. Harmon played football and was involved in agriculture. The sheriff's office is still investigating and an autopsy was being performed Friday. Deputies say there appears to be nothing criminal about this incident, just simply a tragedy.
