Tuesday is a big day for the state of Texas and for the State Senator from Lubbock. Robert Duncan is to be nominated as the President Pro Tempore of the Texas Senate. If chosen, it would make him third in line behind the Governor and Lieutenant Governor.
So far, he's the only candidate so there's pretty good chance he'll get the position.
Meanwhile, Duncan is reacting favorably to changes in leadership on the state House floor. "The legislative process is always about change and leadership changes. We will have a new speaker this session, Joe Straus from San Antonio. Speaker Straus, I think, will be a very strong speaker for the state of Texas," Duncan says in his weekly radio address.
We'll get an update after we know for sure that Duncan is chosen as the Senate President Pro Tem.
