Five people were in the Lubbock County Jail Wednesday night charged with trying to sell cocaine. Police arrested all five Tuesday at Buddy Holly Park. They confiscated about 10 oz. of cocaine, or more than $28-thousand worth. Now Jeff Franco, Dwayne Hill, Roberto Martinez Jr., Jeremy Steel and Antonio White are all charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine.

Lubbock Police believe Richard Ramirez robbed a gas station last month. They have issued a warrant for 34-year-old Richard Ramirez, but he has not been arrested. Police say he held up the Texaco on the corner of 7th St. and Avenue Q at gunpoint.

Texas Tech Sophomore, Matthew Ellick McCann, is charged with driving while intoxicated. Early Tuesday morning, McCann allegedly ran a stop sign before his pick-up truck jumped a curb and crashed through a fence. It then landed in the dining room of a home in the 5300 block of 68th St. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

In Hockley County, sheriff's deputies arrested two people accused of robbing a convenience store in Anton. Marco Castillo and Darhonda Harper are charged with robbery. They allegedly beat a store clerk and stole the cash register Monday morning. Anton is in Northeast Hockley County off Highway 84.=
