Paramedics transported three people to the hospital after a wreck at North Indiana and Erskine on Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses say the driver of a Thunderbird, Jose Alanis, failed to yield the right of way as he crossed the intersection. He was then broad sided by a Nissan Pathfinder.
Alanis, and two children in the car with him, were taken to University Medical Center. As of Wednesday night, Alanis is in serious condition at this hour. One of the children is in pediatric intensive care, the other is still being evaluated.
The driver of the SUV refused treatment.
