Robber Leads Police on High Speed Chase

19-year-old Justin Podhorsky is in the Lubbock County Jail. He faces two charges, in Lubbock County, of Attempted Capitol Murder and Driving While Intoxicated. Podhorsky will also face Robbery and Evading Arrest charges in Scurry County.

Police say, Podhorsky stole a car in Scurry County and then robbed an Alsups in Hermleigh. Snyder Police started the chase on Highway 84. Along the way the DPS, Scurry, Garza, Slaton, and Lubbock police departments all got in on the chase.

At times, Podhorsky reached speeds of 120 miles an hour. It ended when police say he slammed into a Snyder and Slaton Police car. The Slaton Police officer was treated and released from University Medical Center. No one else was injured.

Police are holding Podhorsky on two $100,000 bonds for each of the Attempted Capital Murder charges.
