On Thursday U.S. Rep. Larry Combest announced that the Housing Authority of the City of Muleshoe has received a total of $1,842,672 in grants and loans through the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Office. "This project will help provide better housing to many low-income families, and I am glad that our local community has received this funding from USDA."
The Housing Authority of the City of Muleshoe has received a $1,542,672 loan and a grant of $300,000 through the department. The funds will be used to rehabilitate a 72-unit low income farm labor housing project in Muleshoe. The facility is more than 20-years-old and is in need of mechanical and structural rehabilitation.
