A Lubbock County man told deputies that he tried to drive himself to a hospital with a gunshot wound, but he pulled over when the pain became too great. According to Sergeant Greg Parrot with the Lubbock County Sheriff's Department, the still unidentified man flagged down an ambulance on West 19th St.
The man told officers he was shot on a dirt road during a dispute with another man. The victim was taken to Covenant Medical Center with a superficial wound to the arm. He has since been treated and released.
Officers are now questioning the victim, and investigating the alleged crime scene.
