We aren't seeing severe weather just yet, but it is just around the corner, and the South Plains Association of Governments wants to help you prepare for it they're offering grants to help south plains residents build storm shelters in their homes.
The average cost to build a shelter is five thousand dollars, and SPAG will match any home owner up to 25 hundred dollars. "We had some critical storms in the past year, and we do live in tornado ally, so this is really something that's out there for the public safety." Said Director of Regional Services Elena Quintanilla.
