Texas Tech Close to Getting Millions in Federal Funding

Two programs at Texas Tech appear close to getting millions of dollars in federal funding. Tech's Defense Research program could get $5.5 million. The money will go toward fighting bio and chemical terrorism.

Also, Tech's Center for Space Sciences could receive $2.5 million. The center does research to help NASA increase its ability to keep people in space for longer periods of time.

Both bills must be approved by the full congress before Tech gets the money.
