20,000 Expected to Attend Bush Celebration

About 20,000 people are expected to greet former President George W. Bush and wife Laura Bush when they arive in Midland for a welcome home celebration.

The Bushes will head to their West Texas hometown after the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th president of the United States today.

The welcome home event is set for Centennial Plaza. That's Midland 's town square.

The Schedule of Events are as follows:

  • 4:55pm President Bush arrives Midland, TX
  • 5:20pm President Bush attends 'Welcome Home' event in Centennial Square
  • 6:20pm Event concludes
  • 6:45pm Wheels up en route TSTC-Waco
  • 7:55pm Wheels down Waco, TX
  • 8:45pm Chopper to Crawford ranch
