A cable cut right here in Lubbock went unnoticed here in the Hub City, but folks over in Eastern New Mexico sure noticed.
The Portales News Tribune says the cable cut Tuesday morning in Lubbock knocked out internet service to 3,000 customers. The Tribune has since said service was restored. In addition, the Carlsbad Current-Argus says cell phone service to that city has been interrupted.
Suddenlink tells NewsChannel 11 that we did not suffer the ill effects of the cable cut because of a redundant cable ring. In other words, Suddenlink has a backup plan so here in Lubbock we got lucky.
