Body Found in Fire North of Hobbs

On Saturday, January 17th, 2009, at approximately 2:11 a.m., the Hobbs Fire Department and the Lea County Sheriff's Department responded to 716 Baregrass in reference to a structure fire.

Upon arrival the mobile home was fully involved. Once the Hobbs Fire Department extinguished the flames. A male body was located inside the mobile home deceased.

The body is being sent to Albuquerque for an autopsy to determine the cause of death and to positively identify the body. The cause of the fire and this case are still under investigation. No other information is available at report time, as the investigation is continuing.
