HAWLEY, Texas (AP) - Bulldozers and fire crews are making inroads against a West Texas wildfire that's burned 5,800 acres near Abilene. The Texas Forest Service says the Sanderosa fire that destroyed eight homes yesterday is about 50 percent this morning.
No injuries have been reported. Meanwhile, the Matthews Ranch fire continues to blaze near Albany. The fire has burned 1,000 acres so far along the Shackleford-Throckmorton county line.
