The unemployment numbers for Lubbock are so good that they might make you wonder "is it too good to be true?"

Lubbock's unemployment rate for December came out Friday from the Texas Workforce Commission. It was 3.8 percent. That's tied for the second best in Texas, and it's way better than the national unemployment rate of 7.1 percent.

We should point out that these numbers do not yet include many of the layoffs that we've reported in January.
