Monday, Lubbock City Council meets to wrap up negotiations on the Tara House and Buddy Holly Museum. Members are expected to decide whether on not to approve a Lubbock man's $500 bid to purchase the Tara House. If approved, buyer Mike Haggard must move the house to make way for the Slide Road expansion project.
Council is also scheduled to make final decisions on the naming rights of the Buddy Holly Museum. They received a signed agreement from Buddy Holly's widow, Maria Elena Holly, giving Lubbock permission to use Holly's name for the Buddy Holly Museum for the next 20 years. If approved, the contract will cost the city $20,000
