Icy Conditions Expected for South Plains Roads - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Icy Conditions Expected for South Plains Roads

Weather across West Texas, including on the South Plains and Low Rolling Plains, will not improve today. Areas of freezing fog and drizzle will continue to increase through the afternoon, possibly creating hazardous road conditions.

A glaze is already forming on elevated surfaces such as windshields and stairways, and some slick spots are being reported on lightly traveled streets and roads. Temperatures will remain below freezing today and tonight, raising the possibility of more widespread ice problems.

Drivers should exercise caution. Watch for ice and low visibility. Allow extra time for your drive. Allow extra room between your vehicle and vehicles in front of you.
