Lubbock Police say they need to get an assault suspect off the streets. So now, they've enlisted the help of NewsChannel 11's Most Wanted.
Authorities are on the look out for 20-year-old Nathaniel Hinojosa. He is charged with sexual assault and aggravated assault. Authorities say a family member of the sexual assault victim caught Hinojosa having sex with the minor last Monday. When confronted, police say he tried to run from the home. In the rush, he broke the family member's arm, and ran through a glass door, injuring himself.
The minor told authorities she consented to the sex, but because she is under 17 years old, that consent doesn't count. Now, authorities need your help to find Hinojosa so he can answer for this alleged crime. "He has a rather extensive history with this department in terms of incarceration; he has had a past involving assaults on other folks. He's someone we need to get off the streets," Lubbock Police Sergeant Ross Hester said.
Hester says you should not try to confront Hinojosa yourself. Instead you're urged to call authorities immediately. If you know where 20-year-old Nathaniel Hinojosa is, or how to find him, call Crime Line right now at (806) 741-1000. Your call could move our next susect to the captured wall.
