Memorial Fund Established to Assist Lubbock Family Killed in Accident

A memorial fund is in place to assist the family of four relatives ost in a weekend crash.

According to DPS investigators, the fatal collision happened on HWY 153 near Winters, about 182 miles southeast of Lubbock. Authorities say David Hernandez, 28, of Bangs, Texas was killed after he swerved his pickup into oncoming traffic, and hit the Thompson family head-on.

Dion Thompson, 35, and his daughter Keyonna, age 4, died at the scene. Also killed were Dion's father, George, 57, and his wife Patricia, 47.

In a news release to NewsChannel 11, Mae Thompson, Dion's mother, has said that she will pay for three of the Thompson family funerals. A memorial fund is now in place to help cover the cost. Contributions can be made at any branch of Wells Fargo bank.
