There is still time to sign up for Community Medical School, which begins its third semester Tuesday and runs every Tuesday for the next six weeks.
On HealthWise at Five, today, Dr. Simon Williams, a cell biologist at the Texas Tech Health Science Center, gave a preview of the first class tomorrow on stem cell research. Dr. Williams said, "I'm going to try and give an overview of the history of the field, identify the types of stem cells and then just give some ideas of the areas- Parkinson's disease, diabetes, the kinds of diseases that have the potential to be treated with stem cells."
This third semester of Community Medical School is just $20 dollars for seven classes. All ages and backgrounds are welcome.
