During Hard Economic Times, Lubbock Gets Employment Boost

On a day when the national news talked about tens of thousands of layoffs nationwide, Lubbock gained 56 new jobs. LEDA, the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance, made that announcement Monday. Five companies are making a capital investment totaling $4.6 million dollars. The five companies combined will have new or increased payroll of $2.5 million dollars.

"In this day and age with the national and world economy like it is, to have five companies creating jobs and capital investment is very important," says LEDA Director Kenny McKay

The five companies making new jobs are: Caprock Manufacturing, Sun-Star Electric, National Sorghum Producers, Venus Decorative Hardware, and All-State Distributors.
