City Hears From Citizens About Freezing Pipes

Wells Fargo is not the only place with pipes that burst. City officials also had several people call about water pipes at their home that froze and burst.

Lubbock Director of Water Utilities Aubrey Spear says, "As things start to thaw, the pipe could bust and you might have a leak in your home."

"There's several things that people can do. Most importantly keep your home warm, and often you've seen people open their cabinet doors under the sink and so forth to keep that warm air circulating where pipes are most likely to be exposed," Spear adds.

You can also protect your pipes by wrapping them with towels or other insulation materials. Pipe insulators can be found at hardware stores or on the Internet.
