BOULDER, Colo. - Dominic Seals scored 18 points to lead Texas Tech to a 66-60 victory at Colorado Wednesday, giving Tech its second-straight road victory.
The Buffaloes (9-9/1-5) jumped out to a 14-4 run in the first five minutes of the game before Tech (12-7/3-3) took over going on a 13-0 run in the next four minutes to go up 17-14. Kelly Jo Mullaney hit a layup with 2:04 to go to put the Buffs up by one at 26-25. Tech's Maria Moore hit a three-pointer with 38 seconds left to give the Lady Raiders a 30-27 lead at the half, an advantage it would never relinquish.
The second half saw the Lady Raiders get it largest lead of the game of 14 points on a baseline three-pointer by Ashlee Roberson with 9:01 remaining in the game to put the score at 54-40. With just over four minutes to go, Colorado got within four points on a three-pointer by Brittany Spears, but that was the closest the Buffs would get as Tech hung on to claim the six-point victory.
Along with Seals, Jordan Murphree also scored in double figures with 13 points. Kierra Mallard had a game-high nine rebounds, while Murphree and Roberson grabbed eight and seven boards, respectively. Murphree also had four assists.
Brittany Spears led Colorado with 26 points. Tech outshot Colorado 49 percent to 39.7 percent from the field. The Lady Raiders also outrebounded the Buffaloes 38-to-30.
The Lady Raiders return home to face Oklahoma State on Sat., Jan. 31, at 1 p.m.
