Iowa is also celebrating the life of Buddy Holly up in the small town of Clear Lake.   M

onday night was an event at the Surf Ballroom called "50 Winters Later."   That's where Buddy Holly gave his last performance.   Some Lubbockites including Joe Ely were scheduled to attend.  Also scheduled to attend was Holly's widow, Maria Elena Holly.
