U.S. & Lubbock, Different Consumer Spending Trends

Consumer spending nationwide is down for the 6th consecutive month. That's as of December.

The new numbers came out Monday and, nationally, consumers boosted their savings to the highest level since May of last year. But Lubbock is different, according to numbers released by L.E.D.A. and Lubbock National Bank a few days ago. 

Consumer spending in Lubbock is up 6 percent comparing the 4th quarter 2008 with with the same period of 2007.
