Covenant Hospitals Receive Level II Trauma Verification - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Committee on Trauma (COT) of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) verified the trauma centers at Covenant Medical Center and Covenant Children's Hospital as Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, respectively.

We are so pleased to once again receive ACS verification, said Tammy Jones, RN, MSN, Director of Trauma Services at Covenant Health System. This achievement recognizes our trauma centers dedication to providing optimal care for injured patients.

Verified trauma centers must meet the essential criteria that ensure trauma care capability and institutional performance, as outlined by the ACS. Covenant Medical Center and Covenant Children's Hospital underwent an on-site review by a team of an emergency department physician, three trauma surgeons and one registered nurse, who used the current trauma guidelines in conducting the survey.

Our patients can rest assured that they receive the best trauma care at Covenant, Jones said. The ACS verification validates the high level of care our trauma teams provide to this region.
