KCBD to Delay Big Switch Until June 12, 2009

NewsChannel 11 will continue to serve both analog and digital viewers until June 12, 2009.

The House Wednesday voted 264-158 to postpone the shutdown of analog TV signals another four months, amid growing concerns that too many Americans would not be ready in time for the February 17, 2009 deadline set by Congress three years ago.

Even as the bill heads to the White House, many individual stations have the option of going ahead with the cutoff, as originally scheduled.

KCBD management says it is in the best interests of those who are not prepared, to give the extra time that congress has allowed.

So what does this mean to you? This means nothing will change for viewers receiving our signal over the air, until June 12, 2009.

Remember, if you watch local channels on Dish Network, cable, have a converter box or a digital television, you are already prepared.
