Local Stuttering Support Group

1% of the population stutters according to the Stuttering Foundation of America. That may not sound like much, but that's about three million people.

If you're one of those people, stuttering may be a real frustration for you. Tuesday is international Stuttering Awareness Day, a time for people to understand that there is no clear cut reason for stuttering. That, for some reason, it is four times more common in males.

One thing is certain, you don't have to deal with this alone. There is a stuttering support group that meets at the Texas Tech Health Science Center once a month. That group got together on Tuesday night to share concerns and helpful information.

If you'd like more information on joining this group, you can call (806) 743-5678, or you can (click here). You can also (click here) to reach the National Stuttering Association's website.
