Wells Fargo Amphitheater improvements

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - This summer you could enjoy some outdoor musicals. The Lubbock City Council approved a contract with Moonlight Productions to make improvements to the Wells Fargo Amphitheatre at McKenzie Park.

"They plan to build with the assistance of the West Texas Home Builders Association and some other foundation grants a stage covering, restrooms, dressing rooms, and other amenities to the stage area of McKenzie Park Amphitheater so that summertime musical productions can be conducted at that facility," said Mayor Tom Martin.

The company plans to produce The Buddy Holly Story this summer. There is a chance Moonlight Productions and the City Council may reach an agreement to lease the amphitheatre year round. Moonlight Productions would then take over management of the property.
