LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A major blow was dealt Thursday to families who believe childhood vaccines cause autism. Three federal judges ruled that the evidence overwhelmingly proves that there is no link. The ruling came after 21-experts testified and more than a thousand scientific reports were presented in light of three families seeking compensation from the government.
Health and Human Services officials said in a statement that they hope Thursday's ruling will "help reassure parents that vaccines do not cause autism". The rulings set a precedent, but likely will not end the debate since there are still another 5000 cases yet to be decided.
